I suppose if I did D, I'd need that anyway to point them toward me. Can someone look at these four options in this image and tell me whether they would go with A, B, C or D, given I can't put them on stands directly behind me? Or, I guess if there's a better one I'm missing, let me know. Some have the rear surrounds directly behind, some at an angle, and some practically directly perpendicular. Other than that, I'm fairly wide open, but looking at images, I'm seeing some pretty divergent layouts when it comes to the rears (red). The rear speakers will be higher above ear level than ideal, 7' up on wall. So I know they'll be further behind than ideal. I'm unable to put them on stands directly behind the listening position in the center of the room. The rear speakers need to be on the wall. This is being set up in a townhouse that we will be moving into, so I've got some flexibility, but two main untouchables. I think I originally posted this on the wrong forum, the speaker board, but I realized this is probably more appropriate. Hi all.was wondering if I could get a quick opinion on speaker setup for an Atmos 5.1.2 system, particularly in regard to the rear speakers. It is the general consensus of r/hometheater not to recommend these things and instead simply steer a user toward a 2.0 or 2.1 system made of quality, Audio-Centric name brand components which are easy to assemble and cheap enough for low budget or space conscious buyers. Search should be used as your query has probably come up before.ĩ9.9% of the time Soundbars or HTiB (Home Theater in a Box) systems are not a good investment of your time and money.
